It’s important to feel informed when making any decisions about your or your child’s oral health. They are made using precise impressions of your teeth. These impressions allow our lab to create a mouthguard that fits your bite comfortably and securely, providing enhanced protection during athletic activity.

We typically recommend replacing them every one to two years. Children and teens may need replacements more frequently due to growth and changes in their bite. If your mouthguard shows signs of wear or no longer fits properly, it is time for a replacement.

Rinse your mouthguard with cool water after each use and clean it gently with a soft toothbrush. Store it in its protective case when not in use and avoid exposing it to high heat, which can cause warping.

Custom athletic mouthguards are durable, but they can crack, tear or warp over time. If your mouthguard becomes damaged, stop wearing it and contact our office. We will evaluate the damage and help determine if a repair or replacement is needed to keep your smile protected.
