What Is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® clear aligners are custom made plastic trays designed specifically for your smile. Throughout your treatment, the aligners apply gentle, consistent pressure to gradually guide your teeth into proper alignment. As your smile shifts, you will move through a series of aligner sets, each one bringing you closer to your desired results. The process is designed to be comfortable, discreet and effective while fitting seamlessly into your daily routine.

Benefits Of Invisalign®

There are many benefits to straightening your smile with clear aligners! These are the ones our patients talk about the most often.

  • Undetectable — Because clear aligners are virtually invisible, you can smile with confidence throughout treatment. Your daily life continues uninterrupted while your smile transformation happens quietly in the background.

  • No dietary changes — Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are removed when you eat or drink anything other than water. That means no food restrictions and no changes to the meals you love. Enjoy your favorite foods and drinks throughout treatment without worry.

  • Efficient — With clear aligners, your treatment moves forward consistently as you progress through each set of aligners. Instead of frequent adjustments like traditional braces, checkups are simply to ensure everything is on track. This means steady progress toward your new smile with fewer interruptions to your routine.

  • Improved oral hygiene — By improving your bite alignment, clear aligners can make oral hygiene easier and more effective. Because the aligners are removable, you can brush and floss normally, encouraging healthier daily habits and making it easier to care for your smile throughout treatment.

If an aligner is lost or broken, you can usually go back to the previous set or move forward to the next set if it was almost time to switch. For personalized guidance, please contact our office. In some cases, we may need to create a replacement tray to help you continue progressing comfortably toward your smile goals.

Caring for your aligners is simple! Brush them daily with a soft toothbrush, lukewarm water and a gentle antibacterial soap. Avoid using toothpaste or mouthwash, as these can be too harsh and may damage your aligners. When you’re not wearing them, always keep them in their protective case to stay safe and clean.

Our dentists recommend wearing clear aligners for about twenty to twenty-two hours per day, only removing them to eat or drink.

Yes! Clear aligners are much more comfortable than traditional metal braces. The only time you may experience mild soreness is when you are shifting into a new set of trays, but this should resolve within a few days.
